One of Russia’s most luxurious spas will open in Summer 2008 in Moscow’s MaMaison Pokrovka Suite Hotel.  It will be the only Algotherm spa in Russia, featuring exclusive Algotherm treatments and products.  The spacious 800 square meter (8,611 square feet) spa will occupy two levels of the hotel.
“We are delighted to have Algotherm’s only spa in Russia in our hotel.  It will be available to both guests and non-guests of the hotel.  In addition to the spa and beauty services, the swimming pool and fitness center will be among the best in Moscow.  Algotherm offers an overall concept of well being.  We look forward to the opening in summer.” says General Manager Fedor Filimonov.
The world-class spa will feature state-of-the art facilities, with a wide range of spa services.  It will include 14 private treatment rooms, with 20 trained specialists.  A fitness center will have equipment from Germany and Italy.  There will be a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and solarium.  A saunarium will feature wet and dry air.  Spa treatments will include thalassotherapy, or hydrotherapy procedures with sea or flower water.
Wet treatments include:
Haman, a traditional Turkish hot room, using steam with essential aromatherapy oils.
Sanarium, a mild form of sauna, combining the calm steam of a Finnish sauna with the cleansing wetness of a hot room, evoking the feeling of a tropical forest.  Regular use
can help normalize blood pressure, stabilize the immune system, and increase metabolism in healthy people.
Rassoul, a traditional Moroccan technique, in a hot room that cleans the pores and revitalizes the skin.
The spa will offer a variety of massage treatments, including underwater massage, aromatherapy, Shiatsu, sport, Thai, Bali, Lomi-Lomi and Spanish relaxing, as well as Oriental spa rituals with Oriental massage techniques.  Other treatments include reflexology, hydrotherapy and balneotherapy with the use of sea, floral water or therapeutic muds.
Cosmetology treatments include facials, peels, body wraps and pack treatments, shape recovery programs for young mothers, detoxification and cellulite treatment.  Diet programs and nutrition analysis will be available.
The full-service beauty salon will feature haircuts, dyeing and treatments, manicure, pedicure, and hand treatments.  Other services include sun tanning in the solarium, a fitness studio and spa bar.
The French company Algotherm was established in 1962 as a marine cosmetics company, and was the first line to use algae in its products.  Seaweed is a key ingredient in many of the company’s products.
The new spa will be Algotherm’s 11th spa.  Other Algotherm spas are located in France (2), French Polynesia, Tunisia, Greece, USA (2), Hungary, China and Thailand.  Ten new spas in 10 cities are being constructed.
